Any candy from Oriental Trading...aka China goes right in the bin. Sure it looks cute, but who knows what's in it.
3 Musketeers are all of our favorites, but the best hit is SWEDISH FISH!!! |
Yes! Those are right up there with Sugar Babies for stickiness. I am getting hungry now. |
Reese's and Caramel Cremes |
are you asking for kid favorite or parent favorite? a lot of these response sound like what parents like, kids not so much. coconut? yuckie |
Well, my kids have nut allergies, so 90% of the candy that has been listed above goes right in the trash at our house. I think the kids do like some of the toys - at least they seem to in our neighborhood. |
One of my kids can't have gluten, so he can eat some candy but not other stuff. Agree on the Oriental Trading candy - it goes straight in the trash. And the playdoh has to be thrown out too because of the gluten. They like silly bands and would love a ruler, toy or pencil. They love gummies, hershey bars, skittles and starbursts. Snickers are my favorite. |
If your kids have peanut/tree nut allergies, what are safe items for them? My son has both allergies but is too young to trick or treat...but, now that I'm aware of this issue, I want to make sure I'm inclusive of kids who have allergies. |

If a kid has a super super severe allergy, there may not be much they can do to participate in halloween (in some cases, even touching a wrapped peanutbutter cup could do them in. But for the most part, if you stick with things like lollipops, skittles, sprees, gummy treats, laughy taffy, or straight up hershey's kisses or plain chocolate bars, you should be good to go. |
I have an odd affection for Dots - keep 'em coming people I'll eat them all. |
Wait...playdoh has to be thrown away because of gluten? Is your kid eating the playdoh? |
The motion is duly passed... No trinkets. PLEASE! If you want to stay away from candy, do pretzels or goldfish packets. |
Nah, I'm not feeding your little chubsters more candy. I think we all know most kids don't need any more than they are already getting. Can't kids have fun without food?
|
Last year, DH picked up a bag of mini "Take 5" bars. OMG. Only half of those little buggers made it to the candy bowl for the kids! Perfect combo of pretzels, caramel, and chocolate.
And to the PP who doesn't want to give out candy to chubsters, leave your light off!! Then we know where to throw the eggs! |
Me thinks you are a troll, trying to stir the pot. Other users - DO NOT FEED THE TROLL!! It wants attention. No troll NO!!! |
