We like the mini playdoughs, silly bands, pencils, halloween character rulers/bookmarks, glow in teh dark bracelets, bubbles, etc.

please don't-all goes in the trash

I agree.

I'd rather my son eat a hershey kiss than play with the trinkets from OT! Or a pencil? Seriously??

I agree. All the cheap crap goes right in the trash in our house also. (sorry, just being honest)

Stick with candy!! Halloween is all about the candy - really ANY kind.

Reese's cups are a big favorite at our house. Or Almond Joy.

eww, why? Worse for teeth than chocolate and doesn't taste as good.

Agreed. Skip the fruit snacks.

If you don't like chocolate, go with something like Starbursts or Skittles!

Love Twix, Kit Kats, Nestle Crunch, Starbursts.

Hate Mounds, Baby Ruths, and all that weird stuff that surfaces only at Halloween.

Wait, were you asking what my kids like?

Crap toys go in the trash. Any kind of M&Ms or Snickers go in my stash. Kids can have the rest.

We'll have my favorites so I can snack on them throughout the evening.

reeses cups and pennies. i dont know why we give out pennies, but growing up that is what we always did, so i continue to just have a big bowl of change and kids take from it. i know that probably offends 99.9% of the parents on this board, but seems to get smiles in our neighborhood

A house near me growing up had a bowl of dimes out every year... didn't even have to ring the doorbell. Of course, you took a small handful but were always too scared to take more.

I do a mix of candy, pretzels (or something similar) and sometimes playdoh or another toy and let the kids pick. My husband laughed the first year we bought playdoh and said we were going to be t-peed. But the playdoh was first to go, followed by the preztels. Then the candy. I was surprised. But I think we had a lot of little ones that year - who didn't really know what candy was.

Really?? you hate Mounds? What is not to like about coconut and chocolate??

I'll trade you the Crunch for the Mounds any day.

I'm with you, 21:52. Mounds are my all-time favorite, along with Snickers!! For Halloween I also like some more random little things like Smarties & SweetTarts. Baby Ruths are also good, and on Halloween I like Butterfingers, too. Dang, now I want some chocolate!

I love coconut, kit kat, reese's anything...no too picky here. Not a chocolater person except [img]holidays

Reese's, Hershey minatures, M&M's, sweet tarts, skittles...oddly, DD loves laffy taffy, which I think is gross. Kids love the little trinkets, even rulers, toothbrushes, etc.

Things that kind of suck are little boxes of raisins and any of that bizarre old-timey or non-name-brand candy. I know, it's cheap, but it's not good.

Sugar Babies! Nothing sticks to the teeth better than those. I know, I am going to be toothless in 5 years, except I only get to eat them at Halloween
