PK this made me laugh...especially the "bring a lawn chair." Why is it this happens mostly at WFM, but at TJs people sing kum-by-yah and love eachother?

Does it have anything to do with the price point? Maybe all the soy is affecting people's hormones?

It's a situation!

Hehehe. Yeah mybe it is the soy! It's making people bitchy. Or maybe it's the kombucha giving them heartburn. Or maybe they are happier at TJs just knowing they can get happy juice for a few dollars (3 buck chuck)

I agree, that shopping center is crazy. I almost got hit by a car a few years ago when I was huuuugely pregnant and unmissable. The crazy thing is the car saw me from quite a ways off but the driver never slowed down until almost hitting me--I think he overestimated how fast i would cross? It was bizarre. I must confess I was going to Burrito Brothers and not Whole Foods though!

When they renovated it a few years ago, they repaved the parking lot and made the parking spaces smaller. The lanes between the parking rows are really, really narrow also.

Why did this never occur to me? Yes, those spaces are smaller. They could raise a lot of money for Fairfax County by just installing a few cameras there and sending tickets to people. It's win win-safer lot, more money for other things like education.

21:09.....I hope the person who almost hit you showed remourse! My God! Was the person talking on a cell phone? Horrible!!!!

Nothing wrong with going to Burrito Brothers-beans are healthy. Yeah that whole place is a mess.

YES! I have been complaining about these parking lots for years, but I'm really invested in that TJ's so it's near to my heart. No one else around me seems to care of course.

The TJ's parking lot and left turn out of it is a death trap. WF pretty bad because some of the spaces, as mentioned, are really narrow. I know I can barely attempt to get into them from some angles with my small car, so I can't imagine a bigger car. I avoid both these places at rush hour or other busy times if possible. But they're the closest stores to me, so sometimes convenience wins out. TJ's is just...everything. It's nearly impossible sometimes to get out of the parking area into the lane that goes to 7, so sometimes I go around through the neighborhoods.

Another thing is that WF is a fairly well known cut through to get to the high school using the access road and avoid the lights on 7 when you come from the road by the high rises. Pretty much everyone I know did this (sometimes trying to cut diagonally across the parking lot in the mornings...) and I would assume it's still done. In the afternoon/evenings this can add a lot of through traffic driving right past the WF entrance/exit where people are trying to cross. I definitely see a lot of traffic going through there and while I don't track the cars to see where they go, since I know this is a known shortcut, and it seems like a lot of traffic passing through there in a line, I have to assume that's part of it.
