| George Clooney (at a fundraiser). Denzel Washington (at restaurant in Georgetown). George Steph (on the shuttle). The director John Waters (at BWI). Chelsea Clinton (at restaurant in Adams Morgan). |
| Not really even a real celebrity, but I saw Kerri Strug on the metro once. I think she works for DOE. |

Lots of DC-type celebs: W, Condi, George Steph. And because DH clerked on Supreme Court, as did most of his friends, I've met Roberts, Ginsburg, O'Connor, Scalia at various weddings, funerals, parties, etc.
Most interesting non-DC sighting must have been Seinfeld at an Os game more than a decade ago. He was in the row ahead of us but I didn't notice him until they showed him on the Jumbotron. |
| Saw David Gregory (NBC News) coming out of that little shopping center on Mass Ave, near AU (the one with sutton place). that dude is TALL! Also saw Helen Thomas dining at the Afghan restaurant in Woodley Park. Also saw Sen. Edward Kennedy cleaning out his minivan in front of his house in Kalorama... heh. oh, and I don't know if this counts as a sighting, but I saw Michael Douglas filming a movie in front of the Mayflower. |
| PP (9:42) here... just thought of two more... George Steph in the garage at whole foods in glover park. SO short, but very hot. he was getting into a big-ass, black SUV. and, stone philips at national airport. beautiful voice! |
| Mary Matalin at the airport (National). She was on her cell the entire time. She looked extremely thin -- I guess the camera does add 10 pounds because she looks much better on t.v. |
| Christy Turlington on the Hill last week. She was lobbying for a humanitarian org. She doesn't look all super-modely in person, but she's soooo sweet and warm and friendly. |
| Probably in the "snore" category, but I saw Bill Bradley and Ted Koppel on the shuttle. Hilarious because Bradley is so tall and Koppel is so short . . . . |
| Another snore, but Anderson Cooper frequents the cafeteria inside the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He's hot in person!! |
| Teddy Kennedy at the dog park. He had a coat on with his name on it - in case anyone was confused. |
Maybe it was to remind himself. |
| Does Ralph Nader count? I often see him near 16th & P Sts. I want to beg him not to run for President any more. But also want to thank him for the great work he's done. |
How could Anderson Cooper *ever* be a snore!? He is a babe! |

I have seen my share of locals celebs (politicians, journalists, pundits, etc.) around town...many of the same as others have seen. But my favorite was "sighting" of a local celeb outside DC...We were (are) in Amman, Jordan. We went to a hotel for my 3.5yo daughter's ballet lesson. We were waiting to get on the elevator and there was an older, American-looking couple couple waiting as well. I was busy keeping track of my daughter and when the door opened, we just followed them in. The wife heard me speaking English (with an an American accent) and asked what part of the US were we from. I answered, "DC", and asked the same of her. She replied "DC" as well, and I remarked on the coincidence. We got off the elevator first and I thought I heard my husband call somebody "Senator", but did not really put 2 and 2 together. We split up - he went to the gym and I took my daughter to her lesson. I didn't think much else about the encounter. Later than evening, my husband said something to a friend about seeing Sen. Arlen Specter that morning...how embarassed I was! And my husbad did not realize until that momemt how clueless his generally well-informed wife was that day!
