I don't know what this is called, it was a gift. It is a small oblong kitchen tool with many sharp blades. You place a piece of meat on a cutting board, press down which releases the blades a few centimeters and it makes little teeth like holes in the meat. It makes any cut of meat very tender and can cut marinade time. You repeat several times on both sides. Its the best gift and worth every cent for whatever it costs.

me too! i would love to have fresh herbs on hand.

in a similar vein, i also love my $300 kitchenaid stand mixer. a lot for a mixer, but it's become so handy for baking fresh bread without having to hand-knead. it also just inspires me to bake more, celebrate more birthdays, practice creativity and find some stress relief... did i tell you i love it?

Bodum electric kettle.
It was my housewarming gift to myself, and I love it! I drink a lot of tea, so it's been used 4-5 times a day for the 2 yrs that I've had it.
