My palm pilot!!!!! Which has a vindigo guide to DC (movies, electronic map, restaurants), subscriptions to French and Spanish newspapers, French and Spanish dictionaries, downloaded bus schedules, pictures of my kid, electronic books, calendar, contact list, and games. Great for metro rats like me.

Amen to the PP who said housecleaner. I recently left my job and am home again taking care of my son so we are having to cut back on a lot of things...but the housecleaner was not negotiable.

Our latex mattress. It is sooo comfortable and after 4 years still feels like new. Actually, now that I think about it - king size bed was a great investment too. Sometimes whole family +pets (except for a fish) end up there, so it is great to have extra space.

Aerogarden. We live in the city with no outdoor space, and I love love love having fresh herbs growing in my kitchen. It's idiot-proof, and I find the growlight very stimlulating in the winter.
