Favorite "old" Movie

My mom showed me Esther Williams movies when I was growing up and I loved them! We were on Mackinaw Island in Michigan this past week and one of her movies was filmed there which has made me want to rewatch them all!

Lawrence of Arabia was a revelation, I'd try to stay up late (and invariably fall asleep) anytime I found out Logan's Run was going be on TNT late night. I was all over Nick at Night; I can still sing you the theme to the Patty Duke song despite not having seen it in 20 years. I blame it on my grandmother, she started us off early with things like Gone With the Wind.

My favorite old movie? Probably My Fair Lady, or Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I'm a sucker for musicals.

36 here and I loved Nick at Nite when I was a kid too! I watched it practically every night (Patti Duke was also a favorite). I watched more old sitcoms than normal sitcoms!

Casablanca is my very favorite, followed closely by Notorious and The Women.

28 up here and my grandpa got us hooked as kids on the classics:

Meet me in St Louis
Singing in the rain
Easter parade
Harvey girls
Anchors away
Brigadoon

Just to name a few...

Has anyone else heard of these other then the obvious ones? Such great movies!

I think Casablanca is the perfect movie.

Second the votes for Arsenic and Old Lace, The Thin Man, To Kill a Mockingbird.

Would add
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Dog Day Afternoon
The Warriors

Warriors...come out and play-yay.

I really hate old movies though. I mean, I love those, and a few others (West Side Story...yeah, that might be it). I cannot stand the acting from the old days. It is so weird to me.

Strange, because actors/actresses could actually act then.

Love all the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope "Road to ..." movies, like Road to Bali.
