From the 70's or Earlier |
Thin Man movies can't think of one in particular that I like more than the others |
North by Northwest |
The Sting. |
Imitation of life.
I cry every time I see it. |
The Dirty Dozen. |
Blazing Saddles. I realize it is incredibly non PC if you think about it too literally.
Wait, this might be the 80's? |
I absolutely promise that I am not being snarky here but. . .this would be a great question for the new "Fifty and Over" forum. |
Why? I am a high school teacher, and some of my students are really interested in films and know a lot about old movies. The Razor's Edge ( the original) is great. |
Arsenic and Old Lace, Bringing Up Baby and The Philadelphia Story are three of my favorites. |
Dirty Dozen poster her - I love all of those as well (or really just about anything with Cary Grant). And for the 50 and over poster, I am 38 and have loved old movies since I was a teenager. I married someone who feels the same way about old movies, so 90% of the stuff we watch is older than we are ![]() |
Young Frankenstein
Sound of Music I really hate old movies though. I mean, I love those, and a few others (West Side Story...yeah, that might be it). I cannot stand the acting from the old days. It is so weird to me. |
Great Escape. Love that movie (and I'm 41). |
Adam's Rib and Desk Set are some of my favorite Tracy/Hepburn movies.
And I loved the adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. An American in Paris is my favorite musical (close second is The Sound of Music but I also love My Fair Lady). |
To Catch a Thief
You Can't Take It With You Casablanca |
