Stink Bug Forecast: Biblical

Anonymous
We've dealt with stink bugs in our house for years - it's seasonal, they come in through the chimney, and we live near the woods (behind an embassy) so there's not much we can do. What works for us is pretty simple - when the bug lands (which it will do inevitably) grab it with a wet wipe and flush it. Takes a few seconds. I have my kids calling them "Stinkers" which is kind of silly but takes away their fear - we have learned to co-exist, I guess, until the bugs meet their watery demise.

I was talking to my pest control guy and he said to look on plants for bunches of eggs that look like bunches of little grapes and if you see them, knock them off the tree because each egg has like 100 stink bugs in it. UGH!

omfg. ewwwwwww.

Why does living behind an embassy factor into this?

Yes, but think about all the water you are wasting. You should google "bugzooka" for a better answer.

We get them occasionally but we pick them up with a kleenex and throw them back outside. It's not like they're going to bite you like a spider or mosquito!

Ugh, so today, after reading this, I came home and could have SWORN my house smelled like stinky feet. My husband had shoes on so it wasn't him. I told my husband I suspected stinkbugs and he laughed at me because I'd sent him the article. And then guess what. TWO OF THE LITTLE FUCKERS flying around the living room.

They're a nuisance and all, but what sucks is that they damage crops. They don't eat everything, but they make fruit look really bad b/c they leave holes and obvious bite marks. So it's going to increase the use of pesticides in our area. Sucks.

This is truly horrifying.

Thanks to the poster who mentioned the Bugzooka. Anyone know the best place to order? Amazon has them, but shipping isn't free even with Prime, and they're more expensive than elsewhere, but I don't know if I can trust the other sites that sell them.

I have basically gone to my happy place and cannot stand to think about the infestation that is apparently only going to get worse.... But thanks for this big fat LOL:

crickets, which hop in whatever freaky direction they feel like, looking all freaky.

I feel ya, sister.
