Stop at 3 or go for #4?

I agree. I am so happy we have two, but going from one to two has been HARD, especially on my marriage. DH and I both work and rarely have time alone together. We just got away alone for the first time in 3 years last weekend and it was so nice. We often comment now on how easy it would be if we just had our 3 year old right now - no regrets, but it is definitely a big change. Still, we figure in a year or two when our kids can really play together, it might be a little easier. So, I see where the pps are coming from.

I'm thankful for the honesty. My husband and I struggle with the idea of having 2-he's more or less done (but doesn't want me to get my tubes tied), and I could go either way. Our son is still a toddler-I could never have another right now. It's been so much fun having our son, and our lives seem easy at this point. It's definitely a big decision!

OP - You don't say how old your oldest is, but it sounds like you are dealing with a lot of little ones, which is so hard. Why not wait a year or two before you decide? Your entire house will be saner and you may be able to tap into some extra energy. It sounds like you haven't had fertility problems in the past (my assumption here which could be totally wrong), so waiting a bit may not hurt you in that regard.

I think when your life is calmer, you will know. At least, that's what I"m hoping before we make the decision about having #3!
