Me. I don't even know who is playing -- and if you told me the teams, I doubt I'd know where they are from, either. |
OP here. I'm glad to know I'm not alone. And I didn't post this to start a class war. If anything it's more a gender than class issue to me. And we all know it's all about money, but that's the American way, isn't it? To me, more importantly, it's just about my profound lack of interest. It's just so hyped that's it's obnoxious. After posting on DCUM, this happened to catch my eye: http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/01/31/hype-central-on-the-road-to-nirvana/?scp=1&sq=superbowl%20hype&st=cse I didn't even read the article. Just was such an apt title. |
Fresh and clean with nary a whiff of cheese doodles or pudgy men with too-short haircuts who indulge in 7-layer bean dip. |
OP again. I like cheese doodles and bean dip, just not pro football. ![]() |
For this game, it's cheese curds, not cheese doodles. |
I think football is boring, professional sports are a waste of time and money, and am glad my DH doesn't like to watch them. However, we usually enjoy Superbowl parties for the food and the commercials. We've even hosted before (DH has an obnoxious projector TV) which works out well because we don't care if we miss something because of our hosting duties.

I could not give a rat's a$$ about the Superbowl. Neither I nor my DH will be watching. I don't even know which teams are playing this year! |
Why have a big obnoxious projector TV if not for spoets? Is the ballet really exceptional in HD? |
To watch porn. The close ups are great! ![]() |
Well played. |
I didn't even know the super bowl was this weekend until I saw something about it on TV last night! |
Remember the year some channel had a Pride and Prejudice marathon (the Colin Firth version) running opposite the Superbowl? But we ended up watching the Superbowl at somebody's party, as usual. |
any husband that doesn't like football better be a recent immigrant from India (who is passionate about cricket) or he is gay |
I don't care wither, but won't be a debbie downer on it. I enjoy the festivities....food and drink with good friends.
OP do yourself a favor don't visit a country south of the border during a soccer championship, you will be appalled and downright horrified. |
Ever hear of these things called movies? |
