Skinny Jean Recommendations Needed

Sorry, but I agree with the naysayers. Save skinny jeans for those under 30. They're a fad. 45? Wear expensive, beautifully-made clothes, if you can afford them. No leather coats/jackets or lots of denim. No animal prints (a la Chico's -- ugh). Leather, denim, and animal prints on anyone (but particularly those over 30) scream New Jersey tacky.

Most stylish people would disagree with this advice.

As long as you are wearing, at most, one or two trendy items at one time (paired with more classic pieces), that are appropriate for your body type - you probably look current and great, regardless of your age.

For example, a pair of skinny jeans (trendy), paired with riding boots (classic) and a crewneck sweater (classic), would look great on most.

Animal print is classic, in small doses, like a fitted cardigan or scarf. So are denim and leather, as long as they are not overly trendy or ornamented.

8:37 here again. Yes, I agree with the pp. SMALL doses of denim, etc. are o.k. I am wearing jeans now. Just don't overdo it or follow the latest fad (i.e. skinny jeans, jeggings, lots of studded/bejeweled/etc. denim, cowboy hat, fur vests -- UGH!)

Thanks to the recommendations of a one of the PP's, I ordered a pair of Banana Republic super skinny low rise jeans and I LOOK HOT!

And as I said before, anyone who thinks a 45 yr old can't wear skinnies is jealous because they're to darn f-a-t.
