Skinny Jean Recommendations Needed

Anonymous
I am tall 5'10" and thin and wear the size 8 Gap skinny jeans. 2 pairs x-long skinny, regular wash, 1 pair daaark blue-black x-long. Lurve them. Get them one size smaller than what you normally wear-- they are super stretchy.

I posted this in the other thread, but I'll repeat it here. I got a great pair of Levi's skinnies at Kohl's for about $25.

I'm 5'9" and a size 6 with a very flat ass. These are a nice mid-rise, and they actually give me the illusion of a shapely butt!

I'm also 5'9" and a size 6. Got a pair of skinny jeans from Zara. They have a bit of stretch and are not too low cut. And they were about $40 I think.

OP here.
As a guy, you must be gay if you're NOT looking at me. 45 or not - i'm smokin' hot!
what a dickless wonder you are. Your wife must be fat, and you're jealous because she can't wear skinny jeans.

You have got to be kidding me. 45 is not 75, and skinny jeans on a slim, fit frame does not look juvenile, it looks chic with the right top and some decent boots or flats. What the heck am I expected to wear? Sweats? Baggy "mom" jeans? Dude, I can totally carry it off, as well as leggings, and I look completely age appropriate. There are a lot of subtleties in accessorizing that separate a 17 year old from a 45 year old. But you sound a bit dim in the fashion area, so whatever.

I am tall and have a long waist so always have to get mid-rise jeans (not high rise mom jeans, mind you, just high enough that my hip bones are not hanging out). Anyway, I have a pair of black banana republic skinny jeans from last year that I absolutely love. I've heard they have changed their styles so they may not be the same but check them out.

My other favorite jeans brand for the long-waisted girl is AG jeans. I have owned about 5 pair of them over the years and they seem to run toward the higher rise and therefore work better for me. I have a slightly skinny pair I love called the Flaunt (may be more straight leg than skinny - i.e., don't work great with tall boots because too much fabric but look great with flats). You can often get them for good prices on Bluefly. Hope that helps!

I tried on a pair of Citizen jeans from the Denim Bar but they were supposedly an older style and I needed a size smaller and aparently they didn't have them anywhere. I should have asked what exact style they were.

The girl at Denim Bar was moderately helpful when I told her I was looking for a pair of skinny jeans with a higher waist. She suggested 4-way stretch so that I don't get that baggy front look when they stretch out. The 4-way keeps its shape. But for a place that only sells denim, they hardly had any sizes and didn't have that much to choose from. I would NOT recommend buying there either. They don't do returns at all and only do exchanges within 7 days.

I hope someone else posts a good suggestion. I'm going to do some more jean shopping this weekend and will post if I find something,

Ok, so I went jeans shopping and had some great results. But I paid for it. I went to Nordstrom tbd department and got lots of great help. I ended up with Citizens "Ava" skinny jeans that are labled as low rise but I assure you they are not that low. I find them to be the perfect mid-rise without being mom-ish. I also got a pair of Joe's Jeans in the "Provocateur" style. They were the only ones at the Nordstrom at Montgomery Mall and the saleswoman thinks they might have been a return. I love them and they have pocket flaps so my butt doesn't look too flat. I also bought a pair of Citizen boot cuts too. I'm broke now.

I hate to say it, but I'm going to have to agree. Though, I do admire the blind confidence that some "over the hill" ladies and chubby girls sporting tight pants have of themselves. All that matters is that they think they still got it, if they think it, then that is their reality.

PP - what an ignorant thing to say!
Blind Confidence/Over the Hill - really?

You must be fat and saggy. I hardly think that 45 is over the hill. Why don't you tell me what you're wearing right now, see who has blind confidence!

sheeesh....

We are talking about skinny jeans, not jeggings, or tattered t-shirts, or combat boots. 45 is not over the hill (seriously?) and if you have a slim frame, skinny jeans look great. Not SKIN TIGHT, but SKINNY. My skinny jeans are loose enough to wear a slim top. And they are not super low-rise, so I don't worry about anything showing. You are funny.

PP here - and I was referring to 13:34 as the funny one.

45 over the hill. Oh dear.

Teri Hatcher = 46
Vanessa Williams = 47

If you got it, might as well flaunt it. And age is just a number. I look way better at almost 40 than I did at 20 because I take care of myself. I'm a size 2, so why shouldn't I rock the skinny jeans?? Jealous?!
