Well call it what you want. I support gay marriage (why should the govt stop the transfer of assets btwn gay couples), a women's right to choose etc. What I don't support is the throwing of good money after bad. I don't do it in my personal life and I don't understand my city thinks it is the solution to problems. When my parents were struggling to keep their store going in a blighted 1970s and 80s DC no one helped them, and they didn't leave they stayed here and worked and fought to make something. That's why I can't stand Mary. She tries to make us feel ashamed for working hard and making a good living. |
And she dresses like a fucking low-rent dyke. A classy, lipstick lesbian would be fine with me, but I don't want some old hag who can't dress herself representing me. Gross. |
pp are you the anti Gray poster obsessed with dick ramming? |
Yes. This poster -- well known here from many threads asking "Who is XXX?" -- has some very strange sexual fantasies. Earlier today she posted several messages about wanting to be a lesbian. I guess she is hot for Cheh and pissed off that the feeling is not mutual. |
I used to play hoops with Sekou Biddle. I don't know anything about his politics, but the guy is a stand-up man from every interaction I've had with him. |
I never played hoops with him, but I have spoken with him quite a few times and find him intellignet and knowledgeable. I also like Josh Lopez, although I have not had any real policy discussions with him, and I don't think his background matches Biddle's. On another note, having both a Kwame and a Sekou on the Council might be a good omen for ending our colonial status. |
Lopez ran the Fenty write-in campaign. The campaign just got fined $18,000 for campaign violations. Lopez's antics during the campaign were atrocious, including disrupting a Gray rally with a bullhorn and constantly getting in altercations for which the police had to be called. He may be popular with the Fenty dead-enders, but they all claimed they would move out of DC if Gray won. So, I don't know if they will be here to vote. As far as I'm concerned Lopez completely discredited himself and shouldn't be taken seriously. Biddle is a stand-up guy. No doubt about it. Bryan Weaver has just entered the race as well. He is another very credible candidate. |
Funny thing about Lopez was he would fabricate the altercations and get police involved in phantom events. The guy is pathetic.

11:29 here. Thanks for the info on Lopez. Coincidentally (??) Gary Imhoff has an article about him in themail@dcwatch. Still, in my encounters with him, he's been quite friendly and charming, although I don't claim that to be a reason to vote for him.
As to Bryan Weaver, I'd be happy to learn more. His video |
Sorry about my previous post; I pressed submit rather than preview. I was just trying to say that this Weaver video from his run against Graham is fun:
|
Wow, he's adorable! |
But it would be a shame to deplete the B-team (Barry, Biddle, Bowser, Brown, and Brown). Although I suppose they could become Barry, Bowser, Brown, Brown, and Bryan. |
I wonder if that vile post hoping for Cheh's demise came from Sue H. Folks familiar with Cheh-haters will be able to fill in the other letters. |
Both Weaver and Biddle are smart and decent guys. Josh Lopez, on the other hand, is a looney. If you want a Fenty-loving version of Marion Barry, he's your guy. |
Thanks everyone for your comments. I will definitely keep an eye on Weaver and Biddle and get more info. |
