YES!!! And I loved shrinky dinks. My 6 year old does them now. |
| A power wheels. They were always on the lowest shelf in TRU under the bikes and I just drooled over them. |
I had those! Wow, blast from the past! They were great. Sis and I used them for years. We would take them in the car on road trips. We got a lot of use out of them. I also loved shrinky dinks. I had light-bright and snoopy sno-cone machine (LOVED the sno-cone machine!). Hun. I guess I never realized how privileged I was

Whoops. 14:12 here. Just when I thought I had the most privileged childhood, 14:05 had to remind me that I never had power wheels.
I would see those comercials..."pow-pow-power wheels!" and I begged and begged but never got one. I also never had any of those fun water spray toys for playing in the yard. My parents insisted that a good old fashioned sprinkler was fun enough. I suppose I survived. |
Another one here who wanted, and never received, a chemistry set. I was just talking to my mother about this yesterday. Funny. She told me the reason she never got me this (or the microscope I also wanted) is that I was "never the science-y" type. WTF Mom? I have 3- THREE - advanced degrees in science. and engineering. And she said this with no trace of irony. When I reminded her of this, her response was something along the lines of..."oh, well, I suppose you've changed". OMG.
But I did have a horse-a nice, big, black German warmblood. So I guess I shouldn't complain. But the whole "not science" thing is just too funny. |
Palmettos..can't remember those. Never got Guess, either. Gloria Vanderbilt with white stitching...ahhhh...all the rage.
My DH must have been traumatized by shoes, because he buys our boys whatever kind of shoes they want. Funny. |
LOVED those! |

A rabbit-the kind that takes batteries

Well, I can understand why your parents wouldn't get you one of those, like if they're on a fixed income, or IF THEY'RE NOT CREEPY INSANE! |

Easy Bake Oven (fire hazard)
Power Wheels! My mom went on and on about how ridiculous and expensive they were, but when I was a teenager and the first grandbaby came along she went right out about bought her the Power Wheels Barbie Corvette... I was pretty pissed! Barbie Dolls. My mom said they were all the same doll so there was no sense in having more than 1. |

For those that never got the Easy Bake ovens ... my firm does product liability work, and I think they've been recalled on numerous occassions. So maybe you didn't get the oven, but at least you escaped blistering third-degree burns.
For me, it was Spirograph, the game Guess Who, and a metal detector. They also gave my sister the keyboard I asked for. |

Easy Bake Oven - why on why couldn't I have one? I wanted it so desperately. Although I'm not sure why, we always had cookies in the house.
Baby Alive. I did get a lite Bright though, so now i feel special Not Christmas, but similar to the scientist - I didn't get to take gymnastics - because I wasn't coordinated enough. Now, even as a child, I realized (1) its wrong to say this to a child and (2) wouldn't gymnastics HELP me become coordinated? |
| My light brite was passed down from my 3 older siblings. I used to beg for the replacement patterns so that I could make the designs shown on the box. There were zero patterns left by the time I got it (and many many pegs missing too). My parents told me no because my creativity was free. |
