I got the 100 piece set for Xmas for our kids and they love them! We checked online but the lowest (around $110?) was the same as Child's Play so we just got it there. My husband, who is a mathematician, has also made some incredible objects with them!

DD got her first set of 32 for Christmas and loves them... right now she likes to take her "blocks" to nap with her, she loves them so much. I think with each birthday and Christmas we'll add a little more.

Has anyone's kid not loved them???

I am afraid to buy these for my 6 yr old. she has played with them on playdates, etc and enjoyed them but I am afraid once we have them in the house seh will lose interest...

Is a little over 2 too young?

I promise you, your 6 year old will NOT lose interest. Its impossible. And, no, 2 and up likes them (if they like to build) they just build more elaborately as they age up.

Nope - I'm the poster whose daughter takes them to bed with her (so she can build a "house"). She's 25 months. She can't build anything elaborate yet but she still has a really fun time with them... stacking, lining them alongside eachother, etc.

I have a 3 yo boy who loves to build, so I'm definitely going to look into these.

I don't mind spending $100 if they're as awesome as the PPs say. I'd rather spend $100 on a toy that's going to allow for creative/long term play than buy 10 $10 toys that will only get played with a few times.

KAPLA Blocks trés elegants from France, here.

I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever, btw. But we all build with them--really relaxing activity to do with the kids when they are stuck indoors.

Wow, these must be made of some very rare wood. This set is selling for $1000. Though I do see cheaper sets. Or, is the $1000 price tag just Amazon craziness?

Does it matter which set you get? Clear v. solid colored, etc?

Get the transparent ones. The colors are still bright but they can see their toys that they put inside. DS builds garages for his cars and science stations for his dinosaurs.

get the color the clear are rathe rboring like wearing black or white all the time,
