| Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Both my kids will eat this for three meals a day, so I try to make it the most nutrious pb&j possible: only all-natural peanut butter, co-op bread, and fruit-only jam. All other foods are a crap shoot! |
| My DS eats pasta, yogurt and raisins, definitely at any chance to have them. We switched to the Barilla Plus for more protein since he is hit or miss on most protein sources. He used to be so good about eating most everything, I don't know what I did (or didn't do) to have him change. He is also a BIG milk drinker, but we try to give more water so he'll be hungrier, however, so far to no avail. UGH!!! |
| My three year loves cream cheese and jelly sandwiches and would eat them every meal so I use whole grain bread, apple butter and cream cheese. He eats very few things since he turned three so I just make sure that I buy the most nutritious ingredients that I can find. He asks for spaghetti with tomato sauce practically every meal. He likes pizza, TONS of fruit, french toast/pancakes/waffles, and snacks like cereal bars, raisins and crackers. That's about it, SIGH. My 18 month old eats everything right now, but so did my son at her age. |
| My 17-month old DD eats almost everything I give her now, but after reading this post I'm getting the feeling these days are numbered. One of her all-time favorites is tofu, believe it or not. She loves the flavored kind -- tomato & basil and lemon pepper. She also loves avocado, strawberries, grapes, carrots, green beans (both canned since they are softer -- I tried cooking fresh but she didn't like them -- sigh), Kashi Heart to Heart waffles, bananas, most types of cheese, turkey, chicken, yogurt and apple sauce. That's pretty much our food repertoire in a nutshell (oh, and of course the traditional snacks like Cheerios and Goldfish). |

To the PP re cheese and limiting when turning 2. I respect your views on fat, but also know that recent research is showing that kids need a fair amount of fat for their brains (peanut butter, avocado, some cheese, etc.) my pediatrician is really into don't limit the good fats too much as the research is really compelling.
On food: mainstays around here are: hummus, pita, organic all natural peanut butter on 12 grain soft bread or a bagel, bananas, nutrigrain waffles, whole wheat pasta with red sauce, or with just parmesan, annies mac and cheese, all fruit, yogurt, smoothies, hebrew all beef or turkey hot dogs, amys organic pizza (cheese), skim milk, broccoli, asparagus (odd son), grilled chicken with various sauces for dipping (i.e. mustard sauce, red sauce, etc.); sometimes good ol nuggets, the filled pasta (chicken) in the fridge section; raisins, some nuts (peanuts and almonds are a favorite), cheerios, and other healthy cereals, turkey breast, tofu, soups, sweet potatoes, cheese and crackers, cheese quesadillas, salsa, sometimes they will eat salmon or tuna steak (small amounts), california rolls, cucumber rolls. |
| DC is 2.5 and will never turn down berries (blue, black, strawberries), grapes or mangos. He also likes nuts (almonds, cashews), edamame, and raisins but our dentist nixed the raisins. And finally hummus or peanut butter on a spoon or his fingers. |
My son will eat anything-he's a garbage disposal at the age of 16 months. He can eat half a watermelon, a can of pears, green beans, and lots of chicken in one sitting. Loves yogurt, any fruit, all vegetables, chicken, pasta, cheese, cereal...unbelievable. As a child, I would only 2 or 3 things, and they could never "touch" each other. I didn't get paid back And he's not fat-he's in the 60% for weight. I guess because all he ever does is run! I don't give him juice, and he drinks lots of water.
He takes after his dad-who eats every 2 hours and we're talking meals! |
| is this question just to know kids favorites or what picky kids will eat? i have a picky kid and the answers range from picky to no issue on eating.. OP- what is our point??? |
