Is there one sure-fire thing that your toddler will always eat?

DS seems to be in a milk-milk-milk-all-the-time phase. It's driving me nuts b/c if I give him all the milk he wants, he won't eat anything (he's 18 m.o. btw). Mac and cheese used to be the silver bullet, but lately he's indifferent to most foods. He's not teething and doesn't have a cold...he's just being a picky toddler. Is there something (other than ice cream and the like) that your kids will always eat?

Chocolate? That's probably not what your looking for!

My son is almost three, but he has gone through phases like this, and he loves milk! For us, the two things he will usually always eat are the Morningstar Farms "chicken" nuggets and meatballs. Other than that, he goes in phases by what he likes and doesn't like.

Cheese...although once she turns 2 years and doesn't need the additional fat we'll have to cut down on that one. For now though, it's an ok habit.

Incorporating more of the food groups, her absolute favorite is a broccoli rice cheese casserole I make. I just posted a link to the recipe on another board about picky toddler eating habits. Check out that thread and you might get some additional ideas.

15 mo old usually faithful to applesauce, yogurt, morningstar farms chicken items, nutrigrain blueberry waffles, mozzerella (sp?) cheese and turkey pepperoni slices, and mashed potatoes.

Cereal! My 3 year old DD will eat any kind of cereal and could eat it for all meals. She has a big bowl of it for breakfast and will often ask for it later in the day as a snack. She gets a lot of fiber that way!

chicken nuggets, string cheese, peas, corn, and goldfish crackers!

Cherrios. He's also into dairy - in addition to milk, yogurt and cheese. Banana and apple also seem work well. There is definite lack of green veggies, but my consolation is that he'll eat the fuit.

phases of sweet potatoes, tofu, hotdog. eggs have always been big. bread, especially the soft part.

currently the "it" food is pasta. we've had to make a rule that we have to eat a second thing with the pasta or else he would have three times a day.
