Is there one sure-fire thing that your toddler will always eat?

Cheerios, yogurt, cheese, rice, dried fruit (raisins, craisins, dried blueberries, dried mangoes), goldfish crackers, pita chips
I have a "fruitarian" that eats nothing but fruit and dairy!

Since he turned 18 months, it's all starch: Cheerios, pasta, couscous, mashed potatoes, rice and oatmeal usually work.
Ice cream and chocolate usually too.
And then there's weird things like cashews, dried mangoes, apples (if I'm eating one)...
The rest varies by day or by minute.
It does get better!

oh thank you for this post! my DS 18 mo tomorrow(!) is driving us nuts! lately it's cheese, cheese, cheese. can you really survive on a dinner of only cheese? craisins seem to be in favor now and goldfish are a HUGE hit. sweet potato french fries seem to be pretty consistent too.

to the PP who asked about hotdogs -- i have been using the ballpark white smoked turkey dogs -- seem to be halfway decent healthwise. and he loves them.

oh - and our other always go to food MEATSTICKS! the gerber toddler kind. we just bring out the jar and he breaks into a grin. we try to use these as our backup food when we go out to eat and he decides to try nothing on his plate! they are so gross smelling, feeling, etc but he love love loves them!

Oatmeal with blueberries or raspberries. Good quality, expensive cheeses! And black beans or pinto beans with salsa and avocado.

My twins are 32 months. I don't think there is one specific thing they just love. Honestly, they LOVE EVERYTHING! I really do not know how I got so lucky. They will eat brocolli, cauliflower, any fruit,cheese..you name it..they will eat it. OH, one exception is sweets. They do not care for them! YAY!!

The Hebrew National all beef hot dogs are fine. And turkey dogs.

My 22 month old will eat any and all fruit, pasta, crockpot chicken (or any out-of-the-oven chicken) and olives. That's about it! Good luck - and just stop giving them so much milk. They will get hungry and eat solids!

cheese and yellow squash (go figure)

We've most of the soy hot dogs and Smart Dogs wins for us. I wrap them (or have the kids do it) in the Pilbury biscuit or cresent rolls and they eat them up.

i have 20 month twins:

my daughter will eat anything, including green vegetables.
my son drinks milk by the gallon and (generally) will eat bread products (waffles, toast), meat (meatballs, hotdogs, chicken, steak, etc) and yogurt. Sometimes he gobbles up fruit. Never ever eats anything green. Many times he takes a bite of dinner and no more. I wonder how he survives.

Eggs, strawberries, oranges, bananas, hot dogs (Hebrew National-not gross), rice, seaweed wrappers, pickled radish, rice cake (the Asian kind, of compressed rice, not the puffy, crunchy thing), soup (any kind), kimbap, bi bim bap, sushi, crab, sugar snap peas, chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, apples, ice cream and chips.

I really don't have overly picky children. My three year old is on a green food strike, but I don't project it will last long.

Kraft Mac & Cheese, green beans, hot dogs, bread with butter

Pizza!
My kids (10 mos. and 25 mos.) also like the Eating Right (Safeway) brand veggie burgers (they are rice/mushroom/cheese-based)
