I'm confused -- How do you count your baby's age?

However, I have been alive for 1864 weeks. Now, if you divide 1864 by 4, that makes me 466 months. Divide that by 12 and I am 38, almost 39 years old. This is difficult because I want to have another baby and I don't feel quite ready yet, but I know the odds of bad things happening go up at 40. Also, I want my husband to throw me a big 40th birthday party and he says we should wait 4 years but that seems unfair. Don't even get me started on the issue I had getting my driver's license. The DMV apparently also counts that way PP's do!

I love you. Thank you for making my evening. I also enjoyed the people that misunderestimated your comment.

Me too! This cracked me up

Why oh why did I just read this thread? Some people.

Misundersestimated? I love it when people are trying to be all superior to another and come up with that little gem of a non-word.

Um...you do realize that was likely an intentional inclusion of the non-word, right? It is another level of humor. Maybe you're not sharp enough to catch on.

You know who misunderestimated AND had problems with figuring out his age...that's right.

thank you.... so should I continue to consider her seven months? I am trying to plan for the holidays where I can give family members age appropriate ideas for gifts / clothes / shoes, blah, blah, blah... this is flumoxing me to an extent and I am really just trying to figure out what to tell extended family her age.

Just tell them the truth: you are unable to work out how old she is.

Instead, you can offer two pieces of information to help them out:

1. date when babby was born.

2. approximately how big she is, e.g. size of a large chicken, small turkey, etc.

THERE ARE NOT FOUR WEEKS IN EACH MONTH. HOW IS POINTING THAT OUT BEING MEAN? SHEESH.

I think the PP's post was tongue-in-cheek.

I know what you're saying OP but I also think that present suggestions for family members should include presents for the whole rest of the year. My DD was also born in April so I would say any present from 9 mo-18 mo or something. Of course they also have their birthday...

She was born in April to November, that is 7months.

Months are months. So if baby was born on April 1, she'd be one month old starting on May 1.

But she'd be four weeks old starting April 28th.

So count months if the development guides are in months. Count weeks if the development guides are in weeks. Generally, the guides are in months once a kid is about one or two months (4.4 to 8.8 weeks) old.

I am sorry.

This. Not all months have 4 weeks/month.

Actually, ALL months have four weeks. Every single one.

One has exactly 4 weeks (although once every 4 years, it has an extra day). The other 11 moths have an extra 2-3 more days, as well as the 4 weeks.

OP, simply use her age of conception as her birthday, as is done in the Orient. Or so I'm told. This may be an Urban Legend.

OMG, how have I not read this thread until now? I have tears running down my face. Funniest. Thread. Ever.

I know, right? I was the channel flipper. I never would have opened this thread. But I was laughing so hard at that 40th birthday post.

OP, you have to write more questions. Please tell me what else you're confused about.
