| There are specific areas of Baltimore that are crunchy like Charles Village near JHU. Also, Lauraville which is along the Harford Rd. corridor is pretty crunchy too. |

| There are crunchy people everywhere, but there's a clear critical mass in Takoma Park. Just spend a an hour on Carroll Ave or walk from the Co-Op to Mark's Kitchen and you'll swear you are not in metro DC. |
| Takoma Park has priced out the real hippies. The authentic hippies -- the non-limousine liberals -- live in Old Greenbelt. It's the poor man's Takoma Park. |
