This is such a load of crap - if I was the MIL of the OP (DIL) I would really dislike her...in fact her attitude about kids 'carrying on the family name' really, really off-putting. Blech.

I've been using DCUM for years as a creative writing sounding board. I give the OP props for at least the ability to write intelligibly. Half the hacks around here have no imagination, can't write for shit and a third of them are ESL. The sad thing is the poorer the writing, the more are taken in by it. That's what happens when common sense has been overeducated out of the masses at least around here anyway. You can recognize a fake because they can spell but you can't even tie your own shoes (thus the overadundance of croc wearers). Set literal aside in favor of literacy and see how green you might become. PS-read a fucking book at bedtime instead of having it piped into your kindle so you can listen to it on your IPod in the middle of beltway traffic.

OP here. I had children young, and was therefore a young(er) (and now, older) mother/MIL/grandmother. DIL is not the only one I am reconciling with right now. Perhaps I have not been as pleasant as I should have been over the years. I need to realize that I am not the only one that has it rough. There are no other MIL's on this board? That is hard to believe.

Is it true if someone does not like what someone else has to say here, they are deemed "fake"?
