Is this a terrible going away gift idea? Neighbor is moving and renting their home out

I love the PP's idea of a map of the neighborhood with everyone signing it.

Also love the baskets of DC goodies to eat on the trip to Delaware.

Is this supposed to be a group gift?

Some other ideas:
A neighborhood gift basket. I'm thinking coffee from the local shop, cookies or treats from a neighborhood bakery, local honey or jam, along with handwritten lists of "Things we'll miss doing with you," from each neighbor

Print a map of the neighborhood and have everyone sign around it with little messages, and get it framed.

A custom ornament shaped like their house, or shaped like the state they are leaving.

I'd rather have the Starbucks mug because if it's attractive I'd keep it. And if not, I'd have no guilt getting rid of it. A piece of art/framed craft is a burden if someone doesn't like it aesthetically.

Tree ornament is on par with a mug. But it would be out of season so would probably take awhile to get into the right box to ship.
Thanks for your opinion on my ideas, I guess. What are your suggestions?

I gave mine above yours.

The coffee, the corporation, or both?

Most people do not want more stuff when they are moving. Maybe a gift card for coffee on the road or at their new hometown.

How much would be reasonable? Do you anticipate for multiple stops or just one?

This also would be my choice.

I have a collection of these large city mugs and ended up giving them away because they take up a lot of space. Would be a nice gift for a new grad but not so much for a couple with a bunch of stuff.

I like the map idea, but I wouldn't want to give framed. That makes it harder to transport.

Give them a gift card to a shop or restaurant in their new city.

A Door dash gift card is the only thing I would want to receive before a move. Every time I move I'm cursing myself for all the unnecessary junk we have and vowing to stop accumulating it.

No one wants more stuff when they are moving, especially not another mug to bring to Delaware. Don’t bring a gift to this. Write a nice card if you want to give them something. If you must give a present, make it small and consumable.

If I were moving, the last thing on earth I’d want is a mug. I like the DoorDash gift card idea. Practical and useful gifts are so much more appreciated

My friends gave me coasters made with maps of the city I was leaving. They are great. They don't take up much room, get used and are a nice reminder of where we lived.

I would get them a DC themed kitchen towel or similar from the Made in DC shop.
