This is almost certainly one of the top 3 reasons why many parents send their kids to sleep-away camps during the summer.

Agree with this, and I say this as someone who had little to no sex on vacation. It was a sign our marriage was in trouble. Still married and still in a frequency of 1x a month or so, but at least now I have zero expectations on vacation.

We have kids and generally don't have sex on vacation. We even have had some trips to the Caribbean with a separate room from the kids where we still didn't have sex. So I was surprised on our last trip to the Caribbean where she suddenly did want sex. Our sex life is pretty dead in general, so this was a big surprise to me.

But a 3 and 5yo are so much more work than older kids! When my kids were little my parents had the energy and capacity to care for them. Now my kids are teens and my parents don’t have the energy for little kids but my kids now just need company, rides and dinners. My parents can do that and are happy to.

Now my kids are teens and my parents don’t have the energy for little kids but my kids now just need company, rides and dinners. My parents can do that and are happy to.

3 and 5 year old are exactly what my mom enjoys: take them to any old playground, put on an ancient Disney movie, get out the Playdoh and they’re happy. They’re now 9 and 11 and want to do things like mini golf that cost money (not that she can’t afford it, but her ideas of what things should cost are 30 year old) or go to a movie that my moms not interested in.
