This. I never thought Springfield was that bad. |
| Love Springfield. This is such a dcum thing to call any middle or working class area a but hole. Really encapsulates how many UMC and wealthy think about other people. |
North and West Springfield have plenty of neighborhoods with older brick houses very similar to the houses in ‘central’ Springfield close to the town center. The neighborhood surrounding Lewis/Springfield Estates has a community pool and is exactly the same as neighborhoods in other parts of Springfield, but probably much more diverse. |
| As long as you are in the West Springfield side. Central will always be a dump. |
And far less educated. Have you seen how awful Lewis's demographics are? I think 90% are on free/reduced meals. In. A. Highschool. |
That is public data that can be verified without making numbers up. The latest shows they were 45% FARMs in 2024-2025. The Fairfax average is 37% which is trending up. In part, Lewis' percentage is high because their total population is so low. I think with the latest apartment development more families will start to move in. |
| Why is this thread so racist and elitist?! Yuck |
Uh it’s just socioeconomic factors my friend |
| Springfield is fine. Alexandria Rt 1 S and City of Manassas are much worse places to be. |
Do you realize that Springfield has zip codes 22150-22153? North Springfield is vastly different than West Springfield. West Springfield will remain attractive to high ranking military and government personnel. It’s also a retirement enclave for same. |
| North Springfield goes to Annandale HS. Not Ideal. |
Everyone is cosplaying here. The anonymity lets them say stupid sh*t they'd never say in public. This is an extreme minority of actual people who live here. |
Speak for yourself! I live in this area and my friends sound exactly like the posters in this thread. Most are exceedingly wealthy too. There is obviously a class divide that many Americans are not picking up on. |
It’s insecurity. |
Think you need better friends. I live right in the Lewis neighborhood which DCUM looks down on for being too poor and not white enough. My friends love coming over (even the ones in DC) bc they like the food options right by us. |
