Why aren’t the dads on GLPs?

Anonymous
Don’t need it and neither does any other dad I know. I just cut weight before summer the old fashioned way.

My husband is sexy even when he's heavier. I'm not. C'est la vie

I am not on one and have never tried it but my DH is as he is overweight.

DH has been on Ozempic for well over a year and lost minimal weight. He does drink less and never ate a lot - just has the worst metabolism.

I definetely eat way more than he does, but he is terrible about exercise.

This. My DH gets kudos on having gotten bigger.

I am noticing more skinny fat dads as opposed to just regular fat at the pool so I’m guessing that’s the glp drugs.

Can you get muscular while taking them?
Anonymous
Wish my DH would. Men are too comfortable and shouldn't be surprised when they're not getting any.

what a ridiculous take

That's what my DH does, just starts running in the spring to drop the 5# he put on in winter. rinse and repeat. He loses it overnight too.

For older men (or women) who were not athletic younger or lifted weights consistently it is very difficult to build muscle in your 40s and beyond.

I am man who has never had serious weight issues but have gotten out of shape now and again. But as a father of teens I believe showing that eating healthy and exercising regularly sets a good example. Fat men should do whatever they need to be healthy just like fat women.

Getting ripped without the benefit of muscle memory may not be possible for most people, no matter what GLP or diet they pursue.

This is true, I have a good friend (male) on GLPs and he's lost minimal weight because he has a drinking issue. I was actually surprised when he said he was going on then because I had assumed there would be some restriction based on how much you drink. He has likely 30+ drinks per week.

I thought GLPs suppressed desire for alcohol too.

Yes, they are on them. My husband takes it, as well as 4 other men in his office.

For men, it’s different. They aren’t trying to look “skinny” like a woman so it’s not as noticeable. My husband has lost 25 pounds but has another 20 to go. He still isn’t focused on exercise and weights, neither are his male colleagues. They are mostly just trying to take the excess weight off. Women take it and want to look hot and sexy. Men want to keep eating crap but not be as heavy.

I know two dudes micro dosing for non weight reasons and one who was on it to lose weight.

It definitely does for me!

Which is why they are on testosterone. It's no secret that it's hard to put on muscle after 40, and it gets harder every year. It's fair to assume that if you see a ripped guy over 60, he's on T.
