Why aren’t the dads on GLPs?

Anonymous
I’ve been visiting the pool on these hot days and for the most part the ladies are looking pretty good. But hoo boy the dads! Aren’t they taking these appetite suppressing drugs? They need ‘em.

Because men mostly aren't judged on hie little space their bodies take up.

You really don’t know the answer to this and need to crowdsource it?

Uhm. Yes, they are. I know a lot of men on those.

They just aren't as nasty to each other as women are about it.

GLPs suppress appetite. But men drink a lot of calories in alcohol which are not as much hunger as other incentives.

They are definitely on them!

Skinny men are gross and Glp 1 lose muscle mass unless insane regimen of work out and diet, so it’s not as easy an improvement

I know men who take them. But i agree that being moderately overweight is not really a problem for men the way it is for women, both socially/romantically and in the workplace.

This is true, I have a good friend (male) on GLPs and he's lost minimal weight because he has a drinking issue. I was actually surprised when he said he was going on then because I had assumed there would be some restriction based on how much you drink. He has likely 30+ drinks per week.

You’re not keeping up on the clinical observations:

Does GLP-1 reduce the urge to drink alcohol?

Yes, many people taking GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro) report a significant decrease in their desire to drink alcohol.

Why it happens:
Altered Brain Reward: GLP-1 drugs target the reward centers in your brain. They reduce the release of dopamine (the "feel good" chemical) triggered by alcohol, which makes drinking far less rewarding or appealing.

I just love these GLP1 threads. Three today alone. I really love to see, for the 1000th time, how some frumpy hausfrau thinks some rando she knows nothing about looks gross.

Because they're not stupid.

But you just know what someone you know nothing about is a frumpy hausfrau?

Jd Vance does.

Just had dinner with three other women last week. None of them are on it, but all of their husbands are! I don't think you notice the weight loss as much with the guys.
