How much weight did you gain at menopause?

Wow, how old are you? I was a late mom but it’s been 14 years since my last was born (at 40) and I only just barely started perimenopause in the last couple of months.

I was 110-116 through my twenties, then gained to 130 to get pregnant. I walk 14,000 steps a day and eat healthy. I have to think it is hormones. I am afraid to take GLPs, as I got a prescription and have it sitting in the fridge in basement. It is like, yes, i would feel so much better 10 to 20 lbs thinner but is it worth the risk??

How did you get the prescription?? I am 2 inches shorter and that weight and nobody will give it to me!!I do the 14k walk-/bit also Solidcore, CrossFit, peloton, etc.

I'm a DP but got the prescription through Revolution Medicine. They are local and I have to go to a few in person appointments but I actually find their nutrition counseling and weight appointments more helpful than any of my other drs at this point.

Thanks! So insurance I’m assuming doesn’t cover visit? What is the cost for a visit and will they prescribe glp-1 thru Lily direct?

They charge $39 per month and no, insurance doesn’t cover that. But it was the least expensive place I found and like that they are local and real people instead of just a virtual appointment. I do have most appointments virtual now but do occasionally go in person for the body composition scans, which I find useful. It is actually nice to occasionally have a face to face visit. My virtual visits are the same price as my normal dr visits through insurance so for me that’s $20.

Yes, they will send prescriptions through Lilly Direct.

^ my post was a little confusing. They charge $39 per month then run everything through your insurance after that so you pay whatever your copays are for visits and what you use.

None. 108 to 108.

None so far (~ 5 years in), but been on HRT from the beginning. I think I eat less than before but not sure--I seem to feel full a little quicker than before. But weight is shifting a bit toward the belly even though no overall weight gain.

I am in better shape at 51 than any time since my 20s. I am consistent with my eating and movement, something I was unable to achieve previously.

5lbs. Last period was 5 years ago. I have a healthy diet/regular exercise/no HRT. I do take some vitamins but that's about it.

15 lbs, and put it on pretty quickly after starting menopause at 51.

I'm 59 now and have had to really work to keep it at only 15 lbs.
