| So they are just cutting leave/benefits for the lowest level employees? These are the least valuable and most easily replaced in a firm. |
| If my employer cut my IVF benefits, I’d quit immediately. Those benefits are the primary reason I accepted a position there. |
In this job market, if you quit, would you be able to find another job within the next 60 days? |
It must be exhausting to go through life thinking the way you do. Woke? I bet you can't even afford it. "Ripe" with fraud? "Charability?" Are you illiterate? |
Let alone how it can be "ripe." Rife, maybe. But "ripe?" It's fraud, not an avocado. |
Yes. My skillset is particularly in demand right now given the current regulatory environment. My employer is actually struggling to hire and is raising salaries instead of cutting them. |
| I wonder why they wouldn’t just shorten it rather than eliminate it |
| My husband and I both had and took 12 weeks of fully paid leave from our jobs when our 1st was born. His being there saved my life as I spiraled into severe postpartum anxiety. When I got back to work, I was offered a promotion (as the company didn't want to appear to discriminate against working mothers) and my career skyrocketed--my income has since doubled. My husband was sidelined when he returned to work and was subsequently laid off. |
Are you in a low level admin position? Because that's who they are targeting. |
Well my last job the VP with a ton of RSUs did it then made up some mumbo jumbo he needed max leave and did FMLA 12 weeks combined with two weeks vacation, He had actually started another full time job the very week he left. He had a bunch of unvested RSUs he wanted vested and hang on for annual bonus. He came back and gave two weeks notice. since we were remote not that it matter. Next guy took it when he got his GF pregnant. His wife was not happy, neither was his GF as he spent at time we gave two weeks, his time in Vegas with a third girl. A guy who worked for me took a BabyMoon with his bros, came back and said hey HR said no requirement I stay with kids. You know what I think is better take it away from men and give women more paid time off. |
So basically you have no data to cite, but just anecdotes from an anonymous remote workplace that you don't name that you think should drive policies for millions of Americans. Hope you're not employed in any field that involves analysis of information. |
+1 Sometimes I think DCUM has been infiltrated by foreign bots. The quality of some posts are so poor. |

Nick Cannon has 12 children as of 2026. He has welcomed these children with six different women. So give him Paternity leave each kid you go broke.
It should be for the women. |
here is a fact. No Man has ever given birth to a baby. there is still unpaid FMLA and vacations days for me. I have three kids, as a man, guess what I saved up some vacation days and used that. One company did give two weeks paternity leave I worked at but they had an option to take the two weeks in cash instead, which I did. I had a lot of bills right after first born and came in more handy than me sitting around house all day |
