Where do you live if you work in Tysons Corners ?

Oh cool. Where does the bus drop you off in Tyson’s?

Getting out of Tysons the evening sucks though.

Take Great Falls St or Westmorland.

My commute isn’t bad, but then again, I leave early.

Same. A lot of my neighbors work there. It’s a 20 min commute.

I have never heard of this town. Is it like North Bethesda?

It's straight out Rt. 7 west.

It’s wild how Bethesda and Tysons are literally right next to each other, and yet it’s a nightmare to get between the two during most of the day.

The really odd thing is that this was true in the 1980s and 1990s, yet there still is no plan to connect MoCo with Tysons via Metro. Metro Silver Line to Dulles makes some sense, but surely even more people would take Metro between Tysons and the Red Line…

In a reasonable civilization, we would have much better regional rail that would connect the exurbs like Bethesda and Tysons.

GA Ave beltway exit 30 minutes

Yep. It’s why we moved here. Western edge of Oakton. About 25 minutes, all backroads, no traffic. Could also take 267 or 66 express and get there even quicker if no traffic.

You do you. I agree it is painful. I would move before I commuted across a bridge twice a day.

Oh, and Maryland is unlikely either to widen 495 between the bridge and 270 split (270 already was widened) or to widen / replace the 495 bridge. Maryland owns the bridge. Virginia already has done all that it could.

that is not true. In NY/NJ the port authority splits costs of bridge and tunnels between NY and NJ regardless who owns most of water under bridge as it is assumed both states will be using bridge.

The American Legion Bridge is toll free bridge. If rebuilding was maybe 40/40 VA and MD kick in and then get 20 percent funding from Feds it could be done. I don't see why MD is paying 100 percent for bridge.

I do cross bridge three times a week and it is equally crowded in both directions in evening rush hour. I doubt the folks in Maryland want a big tax hike so VA drivers can use bridge for free, but in VA there are tolls everywhere for MD drivers.
