same- but I dont eat mains at dishoom, the apps and small plates & drinks are good. and the vibe/decor (Kensington branch), no one in my family has lived in India since the 1960s so I grew up with a very nostalgic sort of image (my parents were born during the Raj, im old & they were old when they had me) and the decor & the chicken Kathi roll just hits. |
I mean the national dish of the UK is Chicken tikka masala. Which is considered to have originated in Scotland. I mean I'll argue everyone should get a cornetto and a Gregg's sausage roll on any trip. You're on vacation and they're fun. |

Yes! The seasonal flower displays outside alone are worth checking out. Another Kensington favorite is Maggie Jones for a true British experience. |
| Circolo Poplare. kids will love it too as instagram worthy |
Love Dishoom, but it's too loud. |
| Smaller Indian places there are a few near the theater district that i frequented the other month and loved. The line for Dishoom was nuts (twice) so I just google mapped the next nearest Indian. Was my favorite meals of the trip. |
My then-8 year old son would totally agree with you about Pret. He was obsessed with it! There’s gobs of pubs, but one of my favorites is the Warwick Arms in Kensington. It’s a super cozy and traditional pub, but also a quite decent Indian restaurant! |
| Dishoom. Gymkhana. |
Greggs sausage rolls only excite those who grew up with them. Objectively, they are subpar. |
| The Swan, next to Shakespeare Globe Theater. We are there few years ago while waiting to see a play. |
| I loved Chishuru. Would also recommend Pahli Hill |
Great for brunch, especially with kids, a lot of better Indian food for lunch and dinner. |
