Would you pay $40 for a half chicken at a restaurant?

Don't most half-decent restaurants remove the chicken off the bones? Pretty sure for $40 it is not literally half the chicken, bones and all. It's just the meat on your plate.

An entire Whole Foods rotisserie chicken on Tuesdays is only like $6.

We're going out to a brewpub-type place tonight, and I'm feeling ho hum about it, because it seems like everything is about $30 now. I know I could cook just as well at home.

It's all re-arranged Sysco slop and then 100 hyper bitter or sour beers for $12 a pint. Brewpubs are a dead fad.

No, my favorite chicken is Peruvian chicken. Why would I pay 4 x as much for something not as good? I'd rather have Popeyes than roast chicken. If I'm going to a nice restaurant, chicken is pretty low on my list of things to order.

No? I think the opposite. I've never been to a restauarant that would be nice enough to have a $40 roasted chicken entree where they have yanked out all the bones. It would not be visually appealing.

No $40 is the price of steak

Well, I paid 15$ for falafel pita at roti. Basically for chickpeas. So not sure why 1/2 chicken cannot cost 40$ if chickpeas are 15$.
