Experience when divorcing school employee

One of my colleagues went through this. She taught at a school, her child still attended, and her ex was part of the community.

Nobody really cared, because nobody wanted to make the child's life any harder.

She enjoyed being about to see her child every day even though they shared custody.

I agree that kids are off limits.
