Why are so few criticizing Trump on Iran?

Can you point me to some please? Even Rachel Maddow who hates Trump more than anyone spent most of her recent segment criticizing Trump for loosening sanctions on Russia and then Iran for targeting US servicemen in the Gulf, without really addressing the elephant in the room: the fact that we attacked Iran first!

Thank you. All good sources, but not the sort of US based mainstream media that reaches the masses and is so often critical of Trump (rightfully so) on less important issues. And in the case of Al Jazeera, that’s Qatari state media (although I do like their reporting). He makes his biggest blunder of all time, and they largely ignore it. It’s incredible.

Usually the left and the media are very quick to criticize Trump for anything and everything. Yet on this one, they are virtually silent.

There is plenty of analysis of the negative effects of the war, yes, but no real criticism of Trump’s decision to initiate it. There was far more criticism of his Venezuelan invasion.

Why? Very little criticism from Democratic politicians, from the media, and on down to the Liberals I follow on social media who hate Trump the most. They’re all silent.

Good list. You can get a much more accurate picture of what's going on just listening to this and following the associated accounts on X.

Trump could lose a 100,000 Americans and the republicans would be silent.

I am pretty certain Trump is trying to find a way to fundraise off the war. He is a master of getting people to relinquish their money to him.

I mean I think EVERYONE other than 1. MAGA hardcore fans 2. Israelis and pro Israeli nationalist and 3. US Iranians who maybe just hated the Khomeini has been criticizing/thinks this Iran war is prob one of THE more ridiculous things Trump has ever done..?

A lot of stuff Trump might do, it's possible to TACO. This move is not actually TACOable and that nails it for being one of the worst things he's ever done. We're talking the entire region, global impacts, that's not even getting to the hot mess an entire country is in which is Iran in terms of displacement of its citizens, an entire govt being uprooted and it's entire future outlook unknown.

I'm going to say that people who are not complete idiots and not in one of the above 3 groups are most definitely upset!!!

I think what has OP confused is that while Trump's inept war is a disaster, everyone agrees that the Iranian government is an enemy and evil.

So of course criticism would be a bit more muted than if the event were innocent.

I would say Iran his one of the biggest blunders and not "the one". Competing biggest blunders are: COVID Pandemic handling, January 6th Insurrection, Blackmailing Ukraine, Epstein File handling and now Iran War.

OK, fair enough, but Democrats were literally rabid on all of those issues, and are much quieter on this one. The silence is deafening. What gives?!

Most sane, intelligent people understand that Iran has been the toxic head of the snake for decades. They fund terrorist proxies through Hamas, Hezbollah, IRGC, and more. Destroying the Iranian regime is doing the entire world a favor. Whether or not you agree.
You said that about Saddam Hussein too. Before that about Gaddafi.

No I don't agree. Neither Hamas or Hezbollah ever bothered us. That's their conflict with Israel. I don't accept that their regional problem is the 'head of a snake', lol.

It’s this and what the PP said about Dems. It wanting to appear unsupportive of our soldiers. It’s why Trump’s (fake) anti war position during the campaign was popular. That’s a stance that was traditionally a Dem position but as they have become the establishment they are comfortable with the status quo which unfortunately involves inflicting war. I also think the Israelis have been so successful at dehumanizing people living in the region that calls for “removing Iran” are view d absent of the humans that actually live there.
