I’m going to a brunch; I’m tasked with champagne for mimosas - Sam’s or Costco?

The brunch is probably at someone's home and the host asked OP to bring champagne. I've never bought champagne at these places - but there's a Rodman's on Nicholson Lane not too far away from me (MoCo) and that's where I would go.

Are they really insisting on Champagne? Or can OP bring sparkling wine?

It's all the same it doesn't matter. One is from France and one isn't, that's the only difference.

It's literally not the same.

Champagne is natural. The fermentation is process is different. The bubbles are different. Nothing wrong with prosecco, especially for this purpose, but they're not "the same" and shouldn't be used interchangeably. It's like Coke is a cola, but not all colas are the same, you know?

Hahahhahaa ok

The French would never mix their special bubbles with Tropicana.

I would bring Kirkland purple label Prosecco. If you know the crowd is going to be snobby, you could consider buying something else in a higher price range just because. Once you mix it with OJ, the wine doesn't really matter.

I use lamarca. When I was more cost conscious, I used the kirkland bubbles but the mimosas are far inferior. Then again, sometimes it doesn't matter.
