Thats why it's worse now. The "jobs" we had were resl jobs. Now those minimum wage jobs are just gigs. You didn't need to work 3 of them. Maybe 2. If you told me that large companies would rely on their workers using government Healthcare instead of providing an option for their employees so they could fatten their bottom line, i would have thought you were crazy then. |
Hou didn't need to work 3 of them to make a very very modest living |
| I bet OP voted for Trump. |
| Maybe you are part of the problem OP. Take a lesson from St. Francis of Assisi. |
The top 10 percent of Americans own 93 percent of all stocks. It's very true that the wealthy have prospered since Covid and are spending accordingly. If that's your bubble, life is good. But for middle class Americans that depend on a paycheck, life has absolutely sucked since Covid. Everything is far more expensive and life is much harder. The well to do either have no inkling of the choices the middle class need to make - health care, car insurance, rent/mortgage, student loan debt, groceries - or they don't care. There is a lot of anger and frustration in this country with the state of America in 2026. Everyone can see we are drifting toward something like South Africa, Brazil, India, Mexico - countries with massive income inequality. It's depressing. |
You don't need to look further than your own attitude toward other people in the world. It's sh*tty and selfish. Poverty infects people with bad attitudes like yours. |
I bet OP didn't vote. OP only likes to whine and complain. |
A big part of the problem is how Covid enthusiasts never could admit they were a problem. It’s all blaming other people and zero introspection. They tried to turn Covid into some year-zero experiment and ran the world straight into the ground in their zeal. And none of them stepped down or were punished for the harm they did. So there is a deep current of distrust in every leader and institution that pushed those excesses. |
It started with the election of Nixon. |
Agree. Inflation of may things in America got out of control during an immediately after COVID. We were the only country that had taxpayers pay people to not work- not the companies. And we ramped up entitlements, the SNaP base, the divisive rhetoric under Obama and Biden. Thus here we are- overpriced unskilled labor that only wants to work to under the benefits amount, worst public school programs in history, obesity crises across all SaaS levels, lack of skilled tradesmen- just unskilled illiterate subcontractor, geopolitics issues in every region due to out obvious weaknesses and how we mishandled crimea/ Iran nuclear investigations, Libya Asian Spring BS. |

Too bad it skipped you. |
| Fly to Japan and have a $3 beer and $10 three course meal every day! I kid you not. Oh and the level of service is 10x what it is in America, where everyone has their hand out and no value to add anywhere. |
If you say so, most of us here aren't old enough to have been there. |
Ma’am, this is a Wendy’s |
