Sweet Jesus.
I never even thought of something like this happening to my parent at assisted living. They do not check for guns. This is beyond horrible. |
|
It was a medical tech who administered medications.

How does he sound like a lovely man? There's almost no information out about him. |
I'm not PP but there were other articles about his generosity, donating millions to various causes and his friends and colleagues were very complimentary about him. |

Does the following mean that James came to ask the roommate if the Oxycodone had kicked in for the roommate or for Fuller?
"James had administered medication to Fuller and his roommate as usual on Feb. 13, according to charging documents. He [James] reportedly came back to ask the roommate whether the Oxycodone had kicked in, which was described as unusual. The sound of the shooting didn’t wake Fuller’s partner, according to charging documents." Wow. And then they did not find Fuller until the morning of Valentine's Day at 0730. In assisted living in Maryland, they are supposed to check on residents every two hours. I guess the police have to figure out what happened and when between the time the meds were administered and the body was found at 0730 because something seems really odd. |
| How was he even hired to do such an important job? I have a hard time believing this was his first crime. |
| What was the motive? The staff at my parents' assisted living facility are hit or miss -- some are monsters. But I never would have thought of something like this. You never know what people are capable of. |
**supposed** to check...yeah, ok
|
| What was the motive? |
At the press conference, the police they have no idea about a motive at this point, emphasizing that part of the investigation is in the very early stages. They just conducted searches of two homes associated with the perpetrator, so perhaps they'll have a better indication after going through all of that. |
I agree. But background checks only pick up what you've been arrested and convicted for. Some people are criminals long before they are caught. As someone who has spent our entire adult lives in elder care as either a worker or a spouse of a worker, this is pretty horrifying. But also the first time I've heard of this in over 30 years in the field. |
The article was poorly written, and gave a confusing account - plus mentioned Fuller’s roommate in one sentence and partner in another. |

I bet the perp was stealing the narcotic medication from the patient. This unfortunately happened to my dad after he fell and broke his hip at his nursing home which as A+ rated.
