Sunday snow = Monday closure/disruption?

I love a good snowstorm, but we already had one. And it sucked, because it was mostly ice.

Give me some chilly but blue sky days, and I'd be content.

I am a teacher and the lunch conversation today included several comments about how we do not want another snow day.

At this point I'm assuming at least a delay. Full closure seems possible but hard to say as of now (and may end up being one of those 5am calls.)

The forecast is now for 3 inches with heavier amounts in some areas. If there is no school on Monday, is MCPS going to add another make up day?

It seems like most of the accumulation will happen before midnight, so they should be able to call before 5am.

I think this will probably be a closure if it plays out as currently tracking, but the storm has the potential to be a bust so we’ll see.

Love the warmer weather we have had the last few days. It is bringing up ground temperatures. It will make it harder for the snow to stick.

Of course I am really hoping that we don't have any more snow days. School year is long enough!

My prediction is a definite delay on Monday with a high probability of closure.

Yeah, I feel like a closure on Monday is likely, but hopefully everything should be cleared and ready for school to open on Tuesday with a delay at most.

Yup. McPS is looking pretty dumb for not using its designated makeup days and not including 3 snow days or a virtual learning plan for weather like neighboring countries did.
