Summer after senior year - what do kids do in this window?

Counselor at sleep away camp is 9 weeks. Annual beach week with extended family. Trip with friends ahead of starting counseling.

Internship that was research focused, lots of friend time, and 2 family vacations. Couple of 2-3 day trips with friends, also.

There’s plenty of time to take a family vacation, make memories with friends, earn spending money, and study a little for fall class placement exams (math).

Europe for two weeks, hanging out the rest of the time.

My dd will go on our family vacation and then work. Last year (current college freshman) worked and also prepped for business club interviews. I thought he was ridiculous but I actually don't think he was. The club interviews started right away and they have to have so much technical knowledge.

Mine is working on weekends to make and save money. June is busy with beach week and international travel with friends. No plans for July yet, but part of it will be family vacation. In august, I anticipate that he will be busy with orientation and getting ready for the move-in

My son really wants to work but hasn’t been able to find a job. He’s been looking for months as he’s ready to start now. I’m hoping something works out. If not, he will probably take some summer classes at the community college. My older kids worked.
