In Business, with a 4.35 GPA, a 1420 SAT score, the highest course rigor, extensive leadership in ECs, part-time jobs, and strong effort put into the essays, the student’s community service and personality are well demonstrated.

I know this is disappointing but if you look at their CDS, standardized testing is simply "considered" unlike GPA which is one of the most important categories along with rigor.

Are we saying that a 4.1 isn't a good GPA and because it's not higher the course rigor is weak? I'd say that if you graduated from a FCPS school with a 4.1 and a 1590, you most definitely could handle VT. I'm sorry to this family. These results are shocking!

How many Bs?
3.8-3.9 UW is solid fot VT as per others who got in.
4.4 uw and above good for UVA.

GPA is too low. Last year's class had a 4.33 at the 75th percentile, and a 4.14 at the median. Especially if applying for engineering or unhooked.

Yesterday was release of RD. I think that's the last of it.

This, exactly. a 1590 is an exceptional SAT score. a 4.1 is not an exceptional GPA. The disconnect can make AOs think the kid didn't try/didn't care about classwork/grades.

Plus all of the other pieces we have talked about ad nauseum - ECs, VT essays.

Accepted with a 4.4x and a 1440. Was also accepted at UVA, so choosing between those two.
