No, OP seems to be upset about obviously sick kids sent to school.

Lots of kids sick at school right now. You can see it on their faces. Glassy tired eyes. Sound congested. Red eyes and nose.

OP, they don’t care about their own kids or community. They suck. And they definitely don’t care about your post. I’m sorry.

If you’re afraid of other people’s germs it’s ultimately a you problem. You’re not paying their bills or doing their schoolwork- you don’t get a say. You’re free to self-isolate if you can’t handle living and working in close quarters with other people.

Others cannot pay their bills if you get them sick. And, my hospital bills are astronomical each time I get your cold.

I have three kids ages six and under. There is literally never a day from October to March that at least one of them doesn’t have a cough or a runny nose. To me, a cough and/or a runny nose do not even register. That is not sick. Go to school, play with friends, do your thing. I would never think to mention it. Coughs often linger for WEEKS.

That being said - fever? Not feeling well/low energy? Needing daytime cold medicine? That kid needs to be home for a few days until feeling better. I would never send a kid with a fever, or who was low energy or not feeling well, or who was taking cold medicine, to someone’s house to play. Nor would I have someone over. And I think doing so is a dick move.

But I assume there exist parents who are salty about my kids coughs and drippy noses.

+1 I would inform parents of a young baby about minor stuff like runny noses but otherwise don't think about it. They are mostly getting sick from other kids at school and a lot of our playdates are with classmates anyway.

I’m sorry, PP clearly is emotionally and developmentally stunted. Adults do not walk around sick intentionally infecting people. Hope she ends up in the hospital when it happens to her.

So you’re saying if daycare WOULD let him attend you would send him to daycare, despite having the sniffles, because you can’t (or don’t want to) miss another day of work…

I hope you see why parents send sick kids to school.

I’d love to stay home with him forever. Teaching has become a minefield and it’s mostly the parents who are the mines.

My kids teachers take off regularly as they should. Stop making excuses for being selfish. I have a serious health issue as do some if your students and their parents. A simple cold takes me 6 weeks to get over with 1-2 rounds of antibiotics and steroids on top of nebulizer treatments 3-4 times a day. It’s miserable. And, if I’m not so lucky I’m hospitalized. And, when I get hospitalized my spouse can only work limited hours and they get no pto so we go without income. You have no idea how bad your sniffles impacts others. It suck’s as I can no longer go out shopping, to eat, travel or to my kids events as I have to avoid people like you.

You need to homeschool. And avoid ever going out in public. Being hospitalized for a cold is not normal.

We stopped having playdates for this reason. We found other families would not disclose if someone in the house was sick and it turned out someone always was. Then my child would bring it home and spread it to us.

Wow, that's one of the worst things I've seen on DCUM....

I rarely go out but it’s selfish of others to force me never to go out. It is normal depending on your diagnosis. We did virtual but the school system cut it.
