Please stop sending sick kids out

People aren't contagious for weeks with a cold and the lingering cough isn't contagious. When you start to feel better after 4-5 days, you're very unlikely to spread it.

Wrong, google says "A cold is typically contagious for about 7 to 10 days, though it can last up to two weeks."

Google again. The chances of catching it at that point are minimal.

Defensive responders making it seem OP is crying about some sniffles.

No, OP seems to be upset about obviously sick kids sent to school.

Lots of kids sick at school right now. You can see it on their faces. Glassy tired eyes. Sound congested. Red eyes and nose.

OP, they don’t care about their own kids or community. They suck. And they definitely don’t care about your post. I’m sorry.

I agree. covid and the flu are very high right now. These parents are terrible sending their kid out to infect others like it's no big deal.

People get colds during cold season, OP. If you can’t handle this, I suggest you and your family stay in a bubble.

If you’re afraid of other people’s germs it’s ultimately a you problem. You’re not paying their bills or doing their schoolwork- you don’t get a say. You’re free to self-isolate if you can’t handle living and working in close quarters with other people.

You didn't read the OP at all. School is not even mentioned! Try again!

OK but the PP is wrong by saying they aren't contagious. Minimal maybe, but not impossible. It happens.

What's your point? What do you really expect people to do, stay home for 10 days? That's not realisticz

I regret that people like you have a right to procteate. You shouldn’t be raising chickens much less children.

Every time I read a post like OPs which is completely reasonable, I’m reminded how many of you are completely and utterly selfish.

OK you share my point and we oppose the OP.

Stop sending them to school sick too. I have been sick for a week because of all of the sick kids in my class (it’s in every class). Now my DS is sick so I’ll have to take another day off because daycare won’t let him attend.

So you’re saying if daycare WOULD let him attend you would send him to daycare, despite having the sniffles, because you can’t (or don’t want to) miss another day of work…

I hope you see why parents send sick kids to school.
