If the work is already being done by a robotic arm, all you need is AI to evaluate and manipulate the arms. With a shortage of surgeons their will be huge money in this, and accelerate the transition.

I assume you don’t work in an office if you don’t understand that if a robot is doing the dextrous work, then software can easily take over the job.

They think UBI will lure people into accepting a society run by and for tech bros. The problem is not the dignity of work, or at least that's the not the biggest problem. More pressing problems are 1) costs would immediately rise to meet your known fixed income, and 2) you would be trusting people who currently oppose most social services and aid to hand you free money for life, instead of just yoink it away as soon as you give up your other options.

If it were ever implemented as they envision, everybody but them would end up in servitude - mostly in their private armies or in sex work - or dead. As to the latter, they are not quiet about thinking that population needs to be lower in their robotic future.

Well, I would like the dignity of not working, because the idea that I need to work to live is ridiculous. I like the idea of AI doing everything, and I get guaranteed income to do whatever I want to do to enjoy myself and my time on earth.

America does not believe in everyone being equal. Why do you think we have zoning? There is nothing more American than driving by some neighborhood and seeing pristine homes with beautiful streets secluded from the mass and then a few miles away people on top of each other with terrible road.

Hopefully this changes soon because it should.

That’s what people said when self-driving cars came out. How can a machine know where to turn, stop, go left, go right, slam breaks to avoid hitting something, etc…well, now we have self-driving cars.

AI and ML are already doing so much we humans used to do and doing a much better job of it!

Trust me when I tell you that healthcare of the future will involve little human input. I trust a machine much more than a human who could be tired, sleep-deprived, distracted, etc….

Studies have already shown that AI performs better than radiologists for detecting disease on imaging studies (X-rays, etc.)
