Ivy and Ivy + Interviews

I don’t think interviews move the needle at all for admission, but they are great practices for future internship and job interviews and just life in general.

My son’s Harvard interview was the same. He really enjoyed it! He has Princeton, Georgetown and Stanford interviews scheduled- but the weather might shift them.

I agree- they are great experiences.

Nothing for my son, but he has some friends who received the invitation. So we are assuming my son is not getting into yale.

My daughter is still waiting for an invite.....

Same boat. Also waiting for an invite from Yale and other ivies. He already interviewed with Harvard and Duke. In EA at UChicago and UMich, Case and UPitt. Deferred USC.

Congrats to him! EA UChicago is exceptionally selective and UMich EA saw many more deferrals this year than the last. Amazing!

I thought Duke is no longer conducting interviews?

When do the interview invites usually stop coming in? Aren't we still early in the game?

Not sure when this stops but Duke has interviews.

Yes, they try to interview every applicant in this area through the Harvard Club of DC.

My daughter does Princeton interviews. They don't count for anything apparently as no student she's interviewed has ever been admitted.

That’s a weird basis on which to draw your conclusion.

Kid got a interview request yesterday for Dartmouth. But otherwise it's been crickets. Her mid-year report has not been sent yet.

Does anyone know if Dartmouth interviews all applicants?

Yes, they do.

DC didn't get an interview but was admitted.

Is anyone still getting interviews?

Not my kid. Would love a Stanford/Yale/Duke interview, but probably not going to happen

Interviews tend to waste everyone's time and mean little to overall admit chances. You have to be an extreme outlier (good or bad) to have the interview move the needle.

DD had her Princeton interview last week. Nothing from Stanford.

Kid had Harvard, Princeton and Georgetown last week, has Stanford next week (reached out a week ago). And, yes, I know they try to interview everyone.

No Yale (guess has no chance there).
