When it happened to us, it went better that I thought it would. Tried to get as much as possible done during daylight hours and we went to sleep early. During the day we caught up on work, read, did puzzles (puzzles were a family obsession during Covid lockdown too), etc.

Also for warmth, wearing a hat to bed was key. Sweaters, warm sweats, blankets, etc helped and warm socks, but the hat really made it so I could feel warm enough to go to sleep.
