Who else still has Xmas decorations up?

Me! I like the cozy feeling, and since no one helps me I don't want to spend a day doing it.

I got tired of people commenting on our tree staying up past Epiphany, so we took it down along with all the other Christmas decor. It actually felt good to have the living room cleared--a fresh clean look to the New Year. I think we'll start putting it up Thanksgiving weekend and get it down on New Year's Day.

Your post reminds me of a lazy neighbor that I had years back.

After Christmas 🎄 waaaay over - - she didn’t want to take down her Christmas tree + all the ornaments/lights/etc. on it.

So when Easter came along, believe it or not - she STILL had her tree up!
(It was a fake tree btw.)

So she thought she was being “creative” by decorating it w/pastel colored plastic eggs thus making it into an “Easter” tree!! 🫢

Please stop turning on the outside Xmas lights. Please.

See, I’m always wondering why people are putting the decorations up on November first or even the day after Thanksgiving which is 6-8 weeks before Christmas and then getting bent of shape when other people have things up in January. You do you and stop worrying about other people. I think it’s a little odd to still be paying for the electricity to keep the inflatables up on the lawn, but again, not my circus, not my monkeys.

The day after Thanksgiving was 3 weeks and 6 days before Christmas in 2025.

Mine are up until Jan 31. Just negotiated the date with my teens who did all the decorating. Sorry if it bothers anyone. They'll be in college next year.

I took down the decorations in the living room and dining room, but the tree and other major decorations are still up in the family room and adjacent kitchen. I’ll take everything down next weekend in phases…or not. If it looks like we will have snow, then I might leave the tree up for another weekend.

I tend to leave the holiday cards up the longest.

Christmas decor is down and Valentines is up!

My neighbor still has their giant skeleton up in the front yard from September. After Halloween, they decorated it for Thanksgiving. Then Christmas, now all their Christmas decor is down but not their skeleton? What would be the purpose of leaving it up?

No room in the garage to store it.

We had a neighbor do the same with their skeleton. Now that it's January, they moved it from the front yard by the road, to back at the end of the driveway, still staring out to the neighborhood, but not as obvious. I assume they realized after they bought it for Halloween that they don't have room to store it.

Who is commenting? Why do you care?

Lazy? It’s her house, right?

Why do you all care what people have in their house? Nobody says anything when you put up your tree on Nov 1. That’s no different than having a tree up now. Besides, with gloomy weather, tree looks great.

People with their Christmas trees up in the middle of January are sad. Have some dignity.
