There are many times when I think this about people's posts. I think several of these people are basement bros and extremely unhappy, bit*chy women. I think they are miserable people in real life with no friends, so they want to make others miserable.

This. And I always envision them to be 300lbs, poorly mannered, and friendless.

Ah yes, why can’t more posts reflect this poster’s genuine compassion and kindness? Why is it that, as PP has surmised, it’s always the overweight lonely people who are rude?

Ah DCUM, never change, never become self-aware.

Looks like PP hit the nail on the head and triggered you!

Or… this board is frequented by people who are so far up their own @$$ that it’s cathartic to put them in their place (since we can’t do it in real life).

News flash you are putting no one in their place! It’s too easy to write off triggers a-holes - especially when you envision them as ‘300lb, poorly mannered, and friendless’ - not the people I associate with - so I can’t take them seriously

I think we should implement a "NICE" day where we can only post nice, positive, encouraging posts to each other. No snark. If someone says something some one deems stupid you have to hold your tongue, well your fingers. It would be refreshing. Women being positive to each other we need more of that in this world.

And everyone will get a participation trophy at the end of the day.

I'm obese and friendless and I'm usually pretty nice on here!

Not saying I am not a dirtbag but sometimes I do try to give a kind heads up, like if DD is worried about meeing futur inlaws because she blurts out rude or just omg comments, then she does need help filtering because this won't go over well in a workplace either. This is then seen as hateful by mom. Well. Saying she sounds sweet if they take offense their loss, well is that kind?

Hurting peoples feelings is fun?

I don't think it's overweight people who are mean. I think it is lonely and/or unhappy and or angry people who take their issues out on an anonymous forum.

I hate the phrase "hurt people hurt people", but I think it's probably accurate.

There's one poster who posts on the relationship threads; anytime an OP complains about their partner yelling at them or treating them badly, they always say "Oh, like you're perfect?" and encourages women to stay with their abusive partners. It's so sad, because they've admitted that they are being abused at home as well (and also dish out their own), but any comments towards women deserving a safe, loving partner are immediately dismissed. These type of people are hurting, and it seems to make them feel better to think other people are hurting in the same way.

Exhibit A of a DCUM snowflake with her head firmly lodged in her @$$.

Yes, a lot of people need validation for their life choices so they see any post that seems to indicate a disagreement is triggering for them.

Not exactly. I would say radicals. East Coast is filled with them and raises them. And radicals think that it's their way or the highway.

Exhibit A is the thread on the Midwesterner who moved to the DC area.

I had assumed there were a bunch of character trolls writing precisely for the engagement and pissing off other posters. Like all the 50-something men who write in a way to piss off middle age wine ( vast majority of posters). It thrills them to get a rise out of people.
