You seem like a very nice person but perhaps you can do some very, very basic google searches and you will get these answers? This is your child's future you are talking about. If he "loves" the idea of a school, google it and find out. I googled Fordham Landscape Architecture and Fordham Engineering and got great answers. Which are much better than what people here will tell you. Not meaning to be a jerk. There is some value being provided here. But you get out of this what you put into it. |
op- we actually looked at U Denver. Everything looked great sizewise and vibewise, except that Ds doesn't love Denver as a city- has been there for many tournaments. It's pretty blah and corporate (as compared to SLC which is vibrant and fun actually). But we have thought about Colorado State and Boulder though he thinks the latter is too big for him. |
Op- He will not get close to 1500. It will be work to get him to 1350. Tutor, self study etc. |
Op. Jesus you are being kind of a jerk. People ask for lists all the time. I definitely have googled Fordham and that's how I know they don't have a LA program. We looked at the website and that's why he loved the idea of it. It's Jesuit, it's in NYC, it's mid-sized, it gives merit! I did have another dc go through this process and I just wanted some recommendations that might be outside of what we have considered and many helpful ones have been provided here. If you're on DCUM in the middle of the day, am I really wasting your time? |
OMG NO NO NO NO Except Pitt, Delaware, & JMU You are too stupid to make a college list. |
You wanted to know more about Fordham Landscape Architecture. I googled it. Here is the first thing that came up. And much more below it. Not hard. Using DCUM to help with lists makes sense. Asking about specific programs at schools is better done on your own. Lighten up - must be a typical rainy, depressing day in the Pacific Northwest. And you're welcome. I did your homework for you. I live in NYC. If you and your kid aren't more self-sufficient they will not survive here. https://www.fordham.edu/fordham-stories/campus-and-city-life/designing-a-path-to-a-career-in-landscape-architecture/ |
Oh for God's sake, you assume we aren't from and didn't flee the east coast at the first opportunity. We get to own a successful business and have all of our international clients in NYC and still have the PNW lifestyle we enjoy. I'm sorry you have such a chip on your very delicate shoulder. Have a great day Ms. Superiority Complex. |

Her DS goes to a Catholic HS, has a 3.7/1350 and a few APs, wants good club sports and is hoping for merit (or lower than full pay private). These schools hit those wickets and include likelies, targets and reaches. Some have decent (or excellent) engineering programs and might even have landscape architecture. OP will do her research and find out. You on the other hand are clearly an a**hole. I pity your DC and anyone who has to deal with you IRL. |

W& M
JMU Wisconsin Grand Canyon UMD |
W&M has neither engineering nor architecture. It is smaller than desired size. It is not remotely in a city. |
They have a 3-2 program with Columbia. Also just a heads up that 3.7/1350 isn’t too likely for merit since its not really beyond their averages |
The College Board search can help - https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-search/major/landscape-architecture?s=AZ&s=CA&s=DE&s=CO&s=IN&s=MD&s=MI&s=MN&s=NH&s=NJ&s=NY&s=NC&s=OR&s=VA&s=WA&s=CT&s=DC&s=IL&s=MA&s=PA&s=RI&s=VT&s=WI&stby=4&sortBy=gradRate I used it as a double check to find schools that fit the criteria. Under the campus life filter you can add their sport. I didn’t use it to determine reach, match, and likely. While it could ballpark based on GPA and test scores, we used Naviance/SCOIR and talking to the guidance counselor to refine reach, target, and likely. |
