It’s 100% the latter and proof that God is reaching out to all of us. Even self proclaimed atheists. |
Or is it that deep down, you know it is a ridiculous fantasy, like Christopher Hitchens wrote in The God Delusion, and spending hours and hours on an internet message board with all these snarky comments is an attempt to convince yourself otherwise? |
That's your view and you're entitled to it. But it's very selfish of you to march into this thread and try to spoil it for other people who want to enjoy it. Who pissed in your coffee this morning? |
so says a religious person, who is just making it up. For shame -- it's a sin to lie. |
Are you? Because it seems like you think answered prayers are a zero-sum game and one must prove their own prayer more worthy than someone else’s in order to be able to experience and express gratitude. I am happy for OP that the way in which her prayer was answered aligned with her desires, but that is not always the way that God answers. Sometimes the answer is “no” and sometimes it’s “wait”—and this does not mean that God is unfair, unjust, or unmerciful. It simply means God as the author, creator and designer, has an understanding of justice and mercy and of timing and purpose that far surpasses our own understanding of these things. |
| This is op. I am the victim of Military Sexual trauma and developed a long term addiction as a result. I applied for help through the VA and after a lengthy and stressful process, my claim was granted. I now receive mental health treatment, medication, and have the ability to finish my college degree. Since the incident I have had a very difficult time and have often thought about ending my life. I have a long way to go, but I now have support and help. I never thought I would be believed and helped. Please don’t give up and think your life is not worth living. Keep going and keep believing you are worth something. If you believe in God, keep walking with Him. |
This is op again. That is true- sometimes we don’t want to hear that God says no, or not right now. I believe that God’s will is my will. That is why I term my answered prayer a miracle. I believe He knows I need help and answered in a way to help me. Thank you. |
You waited 30 years and had to deal with human bureaucracy, and one known for taking forever... This is reality, not a miracle. |
and always the answer is no answer at all because there is no God and what happens happens based on human intervention and human desires. |
And always you are back to deliver your message. Like the bluebells in the spring. Enjoy. It's clearly to your benefit. |
Maybe they had a revelation that they were supposed to deliver their message... |
Thank you for sharing your belief and news. It doesn't matter who does or does not share the same beliefs. |
| Miracles are an illusion of chance and probability. |
