Anna's mom tampered with the inhaler, a change from the book I think. But Cat was gleeful about the death as she ate her donuts. |
All of this, yes. Very odd omissions. |
Is the blackmail in the books? Why would the friends blackmail cat when it was alice? So confused lol |
| I disliked all the people in this show but the female detective. Everyone was just so unlikable. I had so many issues with this show. Anna is so argumentative and arrogant but demands people’s attention and time- there’s no universe that exists the people would give her the time of day. And during the ridiculous press conference where Anna takes over the microphone. The whole story and the way the people behave is just so unrealistic. |
| I thought they were blackmailing the other husband over the S&M photos/videos? |
No, that was just one of the many red herrings. Jack assumes there is blackmailing going on when he sees the text messages and video, but there wasn't. Another loose end - we see Jack let himself into the school by way of the chapel on the very night Helen is murdered. But of course, they never circle back and explain what he was doing there. We're supposed to wonder if he killed Helen. It's just all so stupid. |
Huh??? You're saying this happened in the show? It did not. |
| I'm really sick of Jon Bernthal's twitchy good ol' boy schtick. Tessa Thompson is the only thing that made this series watchable. |
Yeah, they flashed back to show the three murders the mom was responsible for. Catherine/Lexy was a sociopath, shown early in Ep 6 emptying her Andrea's inhaler before the sailing outing. |
Totally agree. He was playing his character Shane from the Walking Dead, fake southern accent and all. |
+1 They very clearly show Catherine deliberately letting all the medicine out of the inhaler before getting on the boat. |
So, so bad. Terrible acting, ridiculous plot. I've never read any Alice Feeney books. I definitely won't now! |
SPOILERS Guessing they showed this to make it plausible that Catherine deserved her ending, too. Otherwise we'd just have a Pygmalion plot, where Catherine goes from social outcast to lead anchor, and viewers would sympathize with her and complain about her ending. |

Why did they arrest Cats husband? The evidence Alice planted indicated Lexy but the husband would be a stretch.
